A Battle Royal Over Settler Business...As Palestinians Still Can't Find Jobs

A few months ago, Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc. announced that all its sorbets in Israel would be made using mineral water from Mai Eden, an Israeli company based in Katzrin in the Golan Heights. Then the ice cream war erupted. An Israeli peace group, Gush Shalom, inundated the company with letters protesting its plan to do business with a company based in occupied territory (Israel captured the Golan in 1967 from Syria). Ben & Jerry's at first dismissed the boycott threats. As the campaign heated up, the company relented and canceled its contract.
