Worker Control? No Way
The AFL-CIO is going on the offensive this summer to slow the move toward Social Security privatization. Some 200 union officials are leading workplace meetings to rally the troops against what Big Labor sees as the first step toward dismantling Social Security--private retirement accounts controlled by workers. Come September, labor plans to deploy a grass-roots campaign and radio blitz to oppose congressional candidates who favor privatization.
