"A new breed of philanthropist" (News: Analysis & Commentary, Oct. 6) incorrectly characterized the research of Boston College Professor Paul G. Schervish. He found that the richest Americans accounted for 25% of all charitable contributions in 1994, up from 10% in 1988.
