The Best Labs: A Walking Tour

In 20 years, you won't need to take a walking tour of the top labs in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Instead, you might make a "virtual" visit. Or you could send your trusty robot to fetch information from tomorrow's vast databases.

In the following pages are their reports from seven: Stanford, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Edinburgh, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Sony, and British Telecom. The result is a walking tour of tomorrow.
