Don't Write India Out Of Asia

In "Time for a reality check in Asia" (Cover Story, Dec. 2), I was astounded to see no mention of India or any other country outside the Pacific Rim. It is one thing to rewrite history--where events are often subject to interpretation--but this is an attempt to rewrite geography.

India is very much a part of Asia, unless the tectonic plates have shifted since the last time I checked an atlas. If the object of the article was the economies of East Asian or Pacific Rim nations, the title of the article should have indicated that. As incredible as it may sound, I have had otherwise educated people tell me that Indians are not Asians.
