Investment Figures Of The Week

COMMENTARY
Remember the adage that markets don't move in a straight line? Well, forget
it--at least when it comes to the 1995 stock market. There's just no stopping
the feeding frenzy. Led by the surge in such high-tech issues as Netscape and
Sun Microsystems and the rousing reception to the initial public offering of
Pixar on Nov. 29, the Dow industrials broke through 5100, posting its sixth
consecutive new high. Of course, the rally in bonds helped a lot. But this
market is under a full head of steam and could continue higher before it slows.
