Daimler Benz Chief Executive Officer Jurgen E. Schrempp is moving quickly to knock the loss-making industrial group into shape. On Oct. 10, Schrempp inked a deal to sell subsidiary AEG's low-voltage transmission division to General Electric Co. The same day, European Union antitrust regulators said they expect to allow Daimler Benz to merge AEG's trainmaking activities into a joint venture with ABB Asea Brown Boveri (Holding) Ltd.
