High Tech Fever

In a year of flashy initial stock offerings, high-tech companies are the showiest. Renter's Choice, which leases furniture, is the lone nontech entry among the Top Ten IPOs. No.1 Premisys makes telecom gear. Unlisted: Internet software maker Netscape, whose IPO had a huge first-day run-up Aug. 9, but is now up a mere 75%. The latest buzz: Kohlberg Kravis Roberts' Sept. 5 news it's selling shares in its (nontech) publisher, K-III.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
