There's Just One Reason Why Mike Milken Pleaded Guilty

So, Mike Milken was innocent, suggests "Success was Mike Milken's real crime" (Economic Viewpoint, Aug. 14). Paul Craig Roberts maintains that by "copping a plea," Milken cast himself in the role of a guilty party. Let me suggest a simpler explanation: Mike Milken pleaded guilty to six felony counts because he was in fact...guilty. To claim that an innocent man, with the finest legal counsel, pleaded guilty to crimes he did not commit because the media hounded him even though he was aware that such a plea would guarantee prison time is an absurdity.
