Freezing Out Cancer

The treatment of solid malignancies with extreme cold described in "A new weapon to fight cancer: Cold" (Personal Business, July 17) has, in my opinion, infinite applications. At the John Wayne Cancer Institute, we have treated more than 160 people with hepatic malignancies in the past three years, with improvements in most and apparent cures in a significant number.

Six patients with cancer of the pancreas have also been treated, with very promising results, and nearly 80 cancers of the prostate have been treated with cryotherapy using the AccuProbe technique.
