THE NEW FAMILY VALUES monolith has arrived. Reader's Digest Assn. and Meredith will join in a strategic alliance giving Reader's Digest rights to Meredith's massive database. The deal creates an intimidating combined mailing list of 150 million names. Reader's Digest will sell its books, CD-roms, and videos to Meredith customers and push such Meredith titles as Better Homes & Gardens and Ladies' Home Journal through its network.
