At The Irs, It's Simplify, Simplify

THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERvice is promising to make paying taxes a little easier--and $1 billion less expensive--for small business. President Clinton planned to announce on June 9 a streamlined filing process as part of his vaunted Reinventing Government campaign. Among the changes: one-stop filing for small companies' tax and wage reporting. Businesses would have to file such data just once, to the Social Security Administration, which in turn would pass the information on to the IRS and the necessary states.
