The Bill Gates Collection

When not busy running Microsoft, CEO Bill Gates has been snapping up electronic-distribution rights to much of the world's great art. Now you can see why. Corbis Publishing, the privately held company Gates set up to handle his art rights, has come up with its first consumer product. It's a stunner. A Passion for Art by Corbis (206 641-4505) is a $45 Windows tour of the Barnes Foundation's collection of Impressionist and Post-impressionist art. The disk offers tours narrated by art historians and the ability to browse through galleries. The program is the best proof to date that multimedia is not just for kids.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
