Chairman Kantor Again?

White House political advisers are considering U.S. Trade Representative Mickey Kantor to run President Clinton's reelection campaign. Commerce Secretary Ronald H. Brown was Clinton's top choice, but GOP probes of his tangled finances could make him unsuitable for the visible campaign post. Kantor is likely to take the job if offered. He chaired Clinton's 1992 campaign, and was hurt that the White House first considered Brown instead of him for the '96 post.
