If you've been shopping for a monitor, you may be wondering what manufacturers mean when they say that their displays comply with Energy Star and MPR-2 standards. Energy Star is a voluntary federal standard for reduced power consumption in computer equipment. MPR-2 is a Swedish government rule, adopted by many U.S. corporations, for lowered electromagnetic emissions from monitors. Both features are worth looking for.
