To bring a gleam to the global-minded investor's eye these days, you need say only two words: "emerging" and "infrastructure." Instantly, visions of countrysides without roads or railways, and of households without electricity or phones, are followed by imaginary dollar signs. As the fantasy goes, there's big money to be made supplying these basic demands in developing markets around the world, and all an investor needs is the capital to put up and plenty of patience.
