There Is Law In The Cable Jungle

Your article "Information highwaymen" (Finance, June 27) performed a commendable service in alerting potential investors to wireless cable scams. But we must point out that financing for most legitimate wireless cable systems is done through the public issue of stocks, bonds, or other bona fide instruments, which are regulated by the Securities & Exchange Commission and for which prospectuses must be issued--not by boiler-room telemarketers offering partnerships which produce the scam victims you wrote about.
