Political football, anyone? Oklahoma Republicans, fresh from intercepting a House seat from Democrats in a special election, have recruited two gridiron legends for this fall's contest: Steve Largent, an ex-All-Pro end for the Seattle Seahawks, and J.C. Watts, former All-Conference quarterback for the University of Oklahoma. Largent skirted an NFL showdown when ex-Miami Dolphins receiver Howard Twilley, a Democrat, took a pass on the race. The GOP hopes to win a majority of the state's congressional delegation for the first time ever. Sooner or later, their game plan may be successful.
