Consumer prices probably advanced 0.3% in June, a bit faster than the 0.2% gain in May. Even so, the yearly inflation rate would still be a modest 2.6% in June, from 2.4% in May. Excluding food and energy prices, the MMS survey projects that core inflation also rose by 0.3% in June, the same mild increase as the month before.
