Investment Figures Of The Week

COMMENTARY
The yen and the dollar battled it out in the currency markets--and even with
central bankers on its side, the greenback lost. The dollar eventually slipped
below 100 yen and on June 29 closed at 98.8 yen, a historic low. The slide of
the dollar triggered another wave of selling in the U.S. financial markets.
Small-cap stocks took a much harder drubbing than the larger company stocks.
Bonds plunged again, with the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond jumping to
      7.51%.
