New houses likely sold at a 683,000 annual rate in May, unchanged from April but down from the first quarter's pace. That's the median forecast of economists surveyed by MMS International, a unit of McGraw-Hill Inc., and it suggests that higher mortgage rates are starting to cut into home buying.
