Most companies these days are awash in electronic documents. Marketing reports, sales analyses, memos, you name it--they're stored all over the place, in different computers, and with file names in no particular order. On May 4, Xerox Corp. and Novell Inc. plan to join forces in attacking the so-called document management problem with a new software framework for large networks of PCs.
