Mail-order catalogs and home-shopping networks have given consumers convenient ways to shop 24 hours a day. And when the Information Superhighway is built, traditional retail stores could find themselves even more outgunned by a sea of interactive electronic outlets that also never close. But MicroTouch Systems Inc., a Methuen (Mass.) maker of computer input devices, thinks it has a way to bring some of the nonstop shopping action to the local department store.
