Off And Running On The Data Highway

Even before he became the Clinton Administration's techno-guru, Al Gore had a vision of a new U.S. superhighway system, made not of concrete and steel but of copper wire and optical fiber. Under Uncle Sam's guiding hand, industry would connect every nook and cranny of America into a vast new network. The highways would carry a flood of information to and from homes, offices, and schools, changing the way we live.
