American Factories Still Aren't In A Hiring Mood

At least on the surface, the Labor Dept.'s revision of payroll employment growth over the past year appears surprisingly good. The 336,000 jobs added to original job-gain figures between March, 1992, and February, 1993, plus hefty increases this April and May, translate into 1.52 million net jobs generated over the past year.
