Quietly Closing In On Alzheimer
"Quietly closing in on Alzheimer's" (Science & Technology, May 3) credited the wrong scientists with discovering the genetic defect that, it was later found, causes the body to produce too much amyloid protein, a factor in Alzheimer's. The team that discovered the defect was headed by Mike Mullan of the University of South Florida.
