Investment Figures Of The Week

COMMENTARY
The Dow Jones industrials continued to play catch-up, scoring a neat gain, even
while the broader stock indexes moved down. Still, as the accompaying table
shows, the Dow has underperformed the market over the past year. Overseas
markets were weak, especially London, where some investors decided to cash in
their chips after stocks had pushed new highs. Both short- and long-term
interest rates moved up as the Treasury refunding on Feb. 10 received a less
      than enthusiastic reception.
