How Prudential And Kraft Are Fighting Aids
I want to clarify some points in your story "Corporate generosity is greatly depreciated" (Social Issues, Nov. 2). The fact is that Prudential funding for AIDS has not dwindled or disappeared. The National Community AIDS Partnership is pleased to report that Prudential is one of our current national funding partners and is historically one of the most generous corporate funders of AIDS-related causes in the country.
The second company you cited, Kraft General Foods, was acquired by Philip Morris Cos. This parent company has increased its funding to the National Community AIDS Partnership to offset the strategic redirection of the Kraft Foundation discussed in your article.
