As Airline Mergers Soar...
The Bush Administration's Transportation Dept. is still busy. It was set to approve on Jan. 7 a $450 million investment in Continental Airlines by Air Canada and Air Partners, which is controlled by Texas investors David Bondermand and James Coulter. Transportation officials also plan to grant Northwest Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines permission to operate as a single airline.
