Caterpillar Workers Didn't Back Down They Faced Reality
You have just won my subscription loyalty for at least another year. Your story "How to strike a balance when workers strike" (Editorials, May 4) was dead on, but I'll go one step further. Labor unions are dinosaurs in today's global economy and are not in touch with reality. Why else would they have held a gun to Eastern Air Lines's head when it was apparent that the register was empty? I'm sure all of those unemployed pilots and machinists really appreciated the effort.
