Wynn's World: White Tigers, Blackjack, And A Midas Touch

It's not starting out as a good day for Steve Wynn. The flamboyant chairman of Mirage Resorts Inc.--the man who brought white tigers and exploding volcanoes to Las Vegas--is having problems with his wristwatch. "See that," he says impatiently to the nervous-looking manager of his hotel's jewelry shop. "It's the face. Every time I move my wrist, it slips off to the side." It's the third time Wynn has summoned the manager, and it's the third time that he has sent him off to find a new watchband.
