With slumping energy prices providing little cheer to oil-and-gas producers, most oil-service companies are in deep financial straits. But not all. Offshore Pipelines, a provider of marine-construction services to offshore oil-and-gas producers, is thriving, thanks to its timely shift to international waters. Just as business was weakening in the U.S., Offshore sent its marine-services equipment, including a fleet of 14 vessels it acquired from a unit of Halliburton, to West Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
