Money manager Morris Mark likes to move against the crowd. So when institutional investors cut their holdings in PepsiCo on Apr. 29 after the company reported disappointing first-quarter earnings, he snapped up shares. "It's one of the few premier consumer food-products companies around that's still undervalued," says the president of Mark Partners, which manages $350 million.
