The First 386 Sx Clone That Goes For Less Than A Grand
Korea's TriGem Computer is teaming up with CMS Enhance ments Inc., a distributor of PC disk drives, to launch a brand of personal computers. Does the world need yet another PC clone? Hardly. Sold under the CMS name, TriGem's PC is based on Intel's 80386SX chip but is priced at a rock-bottom $995. Although the TriGem machine's standard equipment doesn't include a hard drive and higher-price competitors do, it is the first to break the $1,000 list-price barrier, CMS claims. Ten different models will be in the line by summer, CMS adds.
