Here Are the 258 Key Political Leaders Who Back Trump’s False Claims of Election Fraud

Former President Donald Trump was not alone in making his baseless claims of widespread fraud after the 2020 election. He was backed up by state and federal officials across the country, and dozens more candidates who are now running for those key positions. If they win in November, these governors and secretaries of state would have the most influence over future attempts to overturn elections, but attorneys general and members of both chambers of Congress can also sow trouble.

Bloomberg compiled this database during the 2020 Republican primaries. Those included are either sitting governors, secretaries of state, attorneys general or members of Congress or won a primary election to run for that race. They made their claims on social media or in statements, interviews and campaign ads. Some are included because they took actions such as supporting lawsuits that sought to overturn the election results, voting against certification of results or attending “Stop the Steal” rallies, even if they did not make any public claims.
