How do media companies effectively monetize content and create new revenue streams in the digital age?

Josh Rucci, GM and Global Head of Bloomberg Media Distribution, was one of 60 speakers who discussed revenue diversification and monetization at the 2017 Digital Innovators’ Summit (DIS), held in Berlin on March 19 – 21.

Addressing an audience of media publishers, decision-makers and senior executives, Rucci offered an overview of Bloomberg’s approach to content distribution. Diving into more detail, he explained how Bloomberg’s distribution platform – a primary revenue line – functions to increase the company’s reach. “Without content we don’t have a business,” Rucci said, emphasizing the importance of integration across platforms, data, video and TV.

Rucci also touched on the challenges Bloomberg faces when it comes to publishing and distributing content. Among these is the issue of choosing which markets to focus on, and which companies to invest and partner with. Ultimately, Rucci concluded, it is critical that Bloomberg maintains a consistent approach and continues to produce quality content that is consistent with its brand values.
