New Hampshire Debate To Air on Bloomberg Television and WBIN-TV

NEW YORK — Next Tuesday, October 11th at 8pm ET, Bloomberg and
\nThe Washington Post, in partnership with WBIN-TV and host
\nDartmouth College, will present the first debate of the 2012
\ncampaign focused solely on the economy. <\/p>\n

With the nation facing sustained high unemployment as well as
\nconcern over deficits, weak growth and a possible double-dip
\nrecession, the Bloomberg\/Washington Post debate will devote the
\nentire program to a substantive exploration of the candidates\u2019
\nspecific plans for national economic recovery — in the state
\nthat will host the first Presidential primary a few months from
\nnow. <\/p>\n

The October 11th debate will be moderated by Charlie Rose,
\nWashington Post political correspondent Karen Tumulty and
\nBloomberg TV White House correspondent Julianna Goldman.
\nMinnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former
\nHouse Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman,
\nTexas Rep. Ron Paul, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Massachusetts
\nGov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum will
\nparticipate in the live debate at Dartmouth College. <\/p>\n

The candidates will outline their economic and job creation
\nproposals in a unique format: seated side-by-side at a round
\ntable facing the hosts and surrounded by audience members. This
\nformat will facilitate serious and substantive debate on issues
\nof vital importance to the country. <\/p>\n

This is the first debate for Bloomberg, the global leader in
\nfinancial data and information, and kicks off Bloomberg
\nTelevision\u2019s comprehensive \u201cEconomy Election\u201d coverage,
\nfeaturing a robust line-up of reporters and commentators
\nuniquely positioned to focus on the election\u2019s most pressing
\nissues – jobs and the economy. As part of the special 2012
\ncampaign coverage, Bloomberg Television is pleased to announce
\nthat former Senator John Sununu Jr. (R-NH) and ABC News
\npolitical analyst Matthew Dowd have joined the Bloomberg team to
\nprovide insight and analysis of the debate and duration of the
\nelection cycle. <\/p>\n

The debate, which will be broadcast live on Bloomberg
\nTelevision, Bloomberg Radio and WBIN-TV in New Hampshire, will
\nbe available to viewers across multiple digital platforms

The Peter G. Peterson Foundation (PGPF), a non-partisan
\norganization established by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce
\nPete Peterson to foster a deeper national dialogue on fiscal
\nsolutions, will serve as the exclusive broadcast sponsor for the
\nfirst Republican primary debate on the economy. The Peterson
\nFoundation is sponsoring the debate as part of a broader
\ninitiative to generate a bipartisan discussion of our nation\u2019s
\nlong-term economic and fiscal challenges throughout the 2012
\npresidential election. <\/p>\n

Beginning Tuesday morning, Bloomberg Television will be live

\njob numbers, the unemployment rate and examining the candidate\u2019s
\neconomic proposals with input from Dartmouth students and New
\nHampshire business leaders. At 7pm ET on October 11th, Tom Keene
\nand Margaret Brennan will host a special debate preview with
\nBloomberg TV analyst Matthew Dowd and Bloomberg TV contributor
\nand Dartmouth economics professor Danny Blanchflower, among
\nother special guests. <\/p>\n

Bloomberg Radio will be live from 5am ET on October 11th on
\nlocation from Dartmouth College with \u201cBloomberg Surveillance\u201d
