NEW YORK — After the Integrated Latin America<\/a> Market (MILA)
\nsaw its first historic trade take place on May 30, investors
\nare now concerned that a world economic crisis may impede the
\nsecond largest stock market in Latin America. Bloomberg LINK
\nwill convene leaders in finance and economics to discuss what
\nthe integration of the Colombia, Chile and Peru stock markets
\nmeans for the region and opportunities to invest in the
\nexchange at the Bloomberg MILA conference. <\/p>\n

The Conference, to be held on Thursday, September 22nd at the
\nNew York<\/a> Academy of Sciences in New York City<\/a>, will look at
\ncross-border regulation issues such as taxation, reporting and
\nregulation, and lessons that can be learned from previous
\nstock market integrations. Additionally, panelists will
\naddress concerns that a lack of a regional political union
\ncould hamper MILA\u2019s success. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe formation of the MILA promises to bring new opportunities
\nfor investors to participate in the Andean Markets, including
\ninvesting in smaller companies that may have been overlooked
\nbefore the integration,\u201d said Robert Bierman<\/a>, head of
\nBloomberg LINK. \u201cWith the world economy in mind, the
\nConference will explore the outlook for companies in the
\nregion and for investors, as well as examine whether or not
\nthe combined market will result in more IPOs and increased
\ncapital.\u201d <\/p>\n
