NEW YORK — Bloomberg View is adding five new members to its
\neditorial board as the section continues to expand, Bloomberg
\nView executive editor David Shipley announced today. <\/p>\n

Katy Roberts, who was previously Week in Review editor at The
\nNew York Times, will join Bloomberg View in New York. Three
\nboard members will be based in Washington, DC, including: James
\nGibney, former features editor at The Atlantic; Michael Newman,
\nformer politics editor at Slate; and Deborah Solomon, former
\neconomic policy reporter from The Wall Street Journal. <\/p>\n

Marc Champion, formerly The Wall Street Journal\u2019s Istanbul
\nbureau chief, will work from Bloomberg\u2019s London bureau. <\/p>\n

As Bloomberg View editorial board members, they will write and
\nreview editorials and columns and commission op-ed articles for
\nthe overall section. <\/p>\n

Katy Roberts was commentary editor at NYTimes.com, where she
\nlaunched the Room for Debate discussion site and held a number
\nof roles including national editor, editor of the Week in Review
\nsection and editor of the Op-Ed page. <\/p>\n

James Gibney was features editor at the Atlantic. Prior to his
\ncurrent role, he held a post at The New York Times and served as
\na foreign service officer and as a speechwriter to President
\nBill Clinton and Secretary of State Warren Christopher. <\/p>\n

Michael Newman was politics editor at Slate and has also held
\npositions with Washingtonpost.com, the Los Angeles Times, where
\nhe was deputy editorial pages editor, and the New York Times.
\nNewman holds a master\u2019s degree in law from Yale and was a Henry
\nLuce Scholar in South Korea. <\/p>\n

Marc Champion was the Wall Street Journal\u2019s Istanbul bureau
\nchief, where he had also served as deputy bureau chief for
\nBrussels, Germany and Eastern Europe and as European politics
\nand diplomacy correspondent. He has also held positions with the
\nFinancial Times, the Moscow Times and the Independent. <\/p>\n

Deborah Solomon was the economic policy reporter for The Wall
\nStreet Journal in Washington. During her tenure at The Wall
\nStreet Journal, she also covered the Securities and Exchange
\nCommission, financial regulation, technology and
\ntelecommunications. She was part of a team that received the
\nPulitzer Prize in explanatory reporting for a series on
\ncorporate scandals. <\/p>\n
