NEW YORK — Bloomberg View today announces that Jonathan
\nLandman, former Deputy Managing Editor and former Culture Editor
\nof The New York Times, has been named Editor-at-Large. This is a
\nnew position that will encompass a range of duties, beginning
\nwith finding innovative and engaging ways to distill, integrate
\nand present Bloomberg opinion, news and analytics. <\/p>\n

\u201cJon has a record of revolutionizing and improving everything he
\ntouches,\u201d said David Shipley, Bloomberg View Executive Editor.
\n\u201cHe will bring a fresh set of eyes to a number of important
\ninitiatives that will help Bloomberg journalism reach ever more
\nreaders. Jon\u2019s a great journalist and a superb leader and it\u2019s
\nthrilling to have him as a colleague.\u201d <\/p>\n

Landman was most recently at the New York Times, which he joined
\nin 1987. His last position at the newspaper was Culture Editor,
\nwhere he supervised critics, reporters and editors working on
\nthe daily and Sunday editions of the newspaper, as well as
\nonline coverage of architecture, art, books, dance, ideas,
\nmovies, television and theater. <\/p>\n

Previously at the Times, Landman was Deputy Managing Editor,
\nwhere he oversaw the integration of print and Web newsrooms.
\nBefore that, Landman was Assistant Managing Editor, where he was
\nresponsible for enterprise journalism, established the
\nnewspaper\u2019s first computer-assisted reporting unit and
\nreorganized the Culture department. <\/p>\n

Landman\u2019s prior roles at the Times included serving as
\nMetropolitan Editor, where he managed the newspaper\u2019s largest
\nnews department and supervised its prize-winning coverage of
\n9\/11, and various other editorial positions, including Week in
\nReview editor, Deputy Washington Editor, Assistant Metro Editor
\nand Assistant National Editor. <\/p>\n

Prior to joining the New York Times, Landman was Deputy City
\neditor of the New York Daily News, a reporter at Newsday, and
\nAssistant City Editor and reporter at Chicago Sun-Times. <\/p>\n

Landman has an M.S. degree from Columbia University Graduate
\nSchool of Journalism and a B.A. magna cum laude from Amherst
\nCollege. <\/p>\n
