New York — Bloomberg LP announced today that Justin B. Smith
\nwill serve as chief executive officer of Bloomberg Media Group,
\nwhich comprises Bloomberg\u2019s television, radio, magazine,
\nconferences and digital businesses globally. Smith will join
\nBloomberg LP on September 16, reporting to CEO and President
\nDaniel L. Doctoroff. Andrew Lack, who has served as CEO of
\nBloomberg Media Group since 2008, will become Chairman of
\nBloomberg Media Group. <\/p>\n

Smith served as President of Atlantic Media from 2010-2013 and
\nPresident of Atlantic Consumer Media division from 2007-2010.
\nWhile at Atlantic Media, he spearheaded The Atlantic\u2019s dramatic
\ntransformation from a largely print-centric magazine to a
\ndigitally-led multi-platform franchise. Under Smith\u2019s
\nleadership, Atlantic Media also launched several new critically
\nacclaimed disruptive digital platforms such as Quartz and
\nDefense One. <\/p>\n

Prior to joining Atlantic Media in 2007, Smith served as
\nPresident and Publisher of The Week magazine where he launched
\nthe U.S. edition in 2001. He joined The Week from The Economist
\nGroup, where he was head of corporate strategy in London, Hong
\nKong and in New York. Justin also worked for the U.S.
\nDepartment of State in West Africa and Washington, D.C. and
\ngraduated from Georgetown University\u2019s School of Foreign
\nService. He is also a founder of Breaking Media, the Bali
\nPurnati Center for the Arts, and the Ouagadougou Education
\nProject. <\/p>\n
