{"id":3533,"date":"2017-10-23T16:00:06","date_gmt":"2017-10-23T20:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/company\/press\/bcom-2018-target-weights-announced\/"},"modified":"2017-10-23T16:00:06","modified_gmt":"2017-10-23T20:00:06","slug":"bcom-2018-target-weights-announced","status":"publish","type":"press","link":"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/company\/press\/bcom-2018-target-weights-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Bloomberg Commodity Index (BCOM) 2018 Target Weights Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='bbg-row bbg-bg--white ' data-anchor='row-69febe9355343'>\n  \n\t\n\t\n\t<div class=\"bbg-row--content\">\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class='bbg-column bbg-column--width-8 bbg-column--offset-2'>\n\t<div class='bb-wysiwyg'>\n    \n    <p>NEW YORK &#8212;\u00a0Bloomberg announced today the 2018 target weights and composition for the\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloombergindices.com\/bloomberg-commodity-index-family\/\">Bloomberg Commodity Index<\/a><\/u>\u00a0(&#8220;BCOM&#8221;).\u00a0 Launched in 1998, BCOM is a highly liquid and diversified benchmark for the commodities market.<\/p>\n<p>No new commodities will be added or removed as a result of the annual reconstitution. The 2018 target weights will be effective January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Energy will remain the largest group in BCOM in 2018, despite reaching its lowest weight in 17 years at 30.43%. The index will see marginal weight increases in the Industrial Metals, Precious Metals, Softs and Livestock groups.<\/p>\n<p>Gold will remain the highest weighted constituent, increasing in weight to 12%. The largest commodity weight drop will be in corn, decreasing over 1.2%.<\/p>\n<p>Target weights of all BCOM components for 2018, as well as their comparative weights in 2017, are listed below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36488\" src=\"https:\/\/data.bloomberglp.com\/company\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/BCOM1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"644\" height=\"871\" srcset=\"https:\/\/data.bloomberglp.com\/company\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/BCOM1.png 644w, https:\/\/data.bloomberglp.com\/company\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/BCOM1-143x194.png 143w, https:\/\/data.bloomberglp.com\/company\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/BCOM1-294x397.png 294w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Target weights are determined in accordance with the rules described in the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/data.bloomberglp.com\/indices\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/BCOM_methodology_20171013.pdf\">BCOM methodology<\/a><\/u>.
