Bloomberg LP was created 35 years ago this month, with the mission of bringing transparency to the financial markets. We helped revolutionize the industry \u2013 making it more fair, efficient and dynamic \u2013 and we carried this spirit into our philanthropic work.<\/p>\n

As part of Bloomberg Philanthropies — which includes our company\u2019s philanthropy and engagement programs\u00a0 — our employees have volunteered nearly half a million hours and supported over 5,000 non-profits in the arts, education, environment and human services to strengthen the communities in which we live and work and improve the lives of millions worldwide.<\/p>\n

To celebrate our 35th anniversary, over the next twelve months, we will be spotlighting 35 non-profit organizations we have partnered with, our work together and some of the people at Bloomberg who have championed and helped them reach their goals.<\/p>\n

Publicolor<\/strong>
\nAs one of our first volunteer partnerships we started in 1996, Publicolor<\/a> matches at-risk New York City students with design-based programs that mentor them for success in college, career, and life. Publicolor’s graduates went on to university\u00a0100% of the time<\/a>,\u00a0versus 52% of low-income minority urban school students nation-wide.<\/p>\n

\"More<\/a><\/p>\n

More than 1,600 Bloomberg employees have spent 9,000 hours side-by-side with students, brightening their futures as well as the offices, hallways and classrooms of schools and institutions with Publicolor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy<\/strong>
\nThe\u00a0Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy<\/a>\u00a0(JBRPC) is a public-private partnership dedicated to improving the 10,000 acres of public parkland throughout Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway Peninsula in New York.<\/p>\n

\"Since<\/a><\/p>\n

Since 2012, hundreds of Bloomberg volunteers have spent their weekend on beaches of Jamaica Bay in New York to remove debris, repair fences and rehabilitate vegetation damaged by Hurricane Sandy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

National Center for Women in Information Technology<\/strong>
\nThe\u00a0National Center for Women & Information Technology\u00a0<\/a>(NCWIT) seeks to increase girls and women\u2019s participation in technology and computing by helping organizations recruit, retain and advance top women into industry and entrepreneurial careers.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg is a proud supporter of NCWIT\u2019s Aspirations in Computing program, which provides a long-term community for young female technologists, offering computing-related activities and exclusive access to scholarships, internships and job opportunities.<\/p>\n
