Representation

Amplifying voices.

Bloomberg is committed to diversity in the newsroom.

It matters who assigns a story, who reports and writes it, who edits and shapes it — as well as whose voices are drawn upon to tell it. Bloomberg News is working to improve gender balance at every level.

New ideas, new insights

In 2018, Bloomberg launched its New Voices initiative to increase the representation of women sources in both online and on-air content. The program includes the establishment of a definitive global list of women experts in finance and business and the funding of media training for underrepresented voices.

Since its launch, New Voices has helped nearly quadruple the representation of female voices on Bloomberg TV, sponsored media training for 700+ executives, and created a global database of 10,000+ diverse sources across business and finance.

Promoting diversity in media and the arts

Through our international initiatives and nonprofit partnerships we’re helping source, train and upskill journalists from all backgrounds. We’re also supporting diversity in and through the arts to advance creativity, broaden perspectives and actively promote social inclusion in our local communities.

Make it happen here.
