Market specialists: Connecting our clients and products
October 08, 2024
Bloomberg transformed the financial markets over 40 years ago and has not stopped evolving the solutions we offer our clients. The company’s Market Specialists team uses their expertise to help our clients use our products most effectively for each role or desk, while feeding the voice of the client back into the product development process to help ensure future needs will be met. They help our clients achieve success, while ensuring that Bloomberg’s industry-leading suite of products and services are innovative and revolutionary.
To achieve this, Market Specialists work across three groups, internally and externally, to serve our most discerning clients. “Working across three main pillars, we help to continuously improve Bloomberg’s offering, making it more appealing to clients,” said Andreas Schmidt, Market Specialist, London.
Make it happen here.
The three groups include:
- Clients: Market Specialists help them get better at their jobs by improving their access to information and analysis via the Terminal whilst also considering broader workflows encompassing enterprise data and product offerings.
- Product and Engineering: Engaging with clients, Market Specialists are able to spot new trends in trading, analysis, or market interactions. This feedback helps to inform our future offerings as Product uses the information to update our solutions. Market Specialists play a pivotal role in facilitating feedback and the testing of prototypes before final product releases.
- Sales: Market Specialists help the Sales team with tactical support when needed with client interactions, while also providing market updates, training and sales supporting strategies. E.g., When new solutions are rolled out, the team provides the Sales force with guidance on how to best position the tools.

“The client-focused work we do, both bespoke and at scale, educates our clients and assists Sales in closing business across the board, whether that be with regard to Terminals, Enterprise Data or Enterprise Product,” said Pari Jeelani, Market Specialist.
“ It also creates franchise value, which we build on to host round tables and ensure our clients’ greatest needs are voiced and addressed by Product. This improves the quality of our offering in a meaningful way to drive future business,” she continued.
With the constant evolution of our products, the Market Specialist group continues to expand.

“It’s essential to understand the entire client value chain and where we can enhance that value proposition. Beside the technical skills, this role requires a very broad and reliable network, as we often need instant access to feedback from senior decision makers,” said Andreas.
