How Bloomberg employees are investing in communities through partnership with Simply the Basics

March 31, 2026

What does it look like when a company invests in its communities?

At Bloomberg, it means employees coming together across cities to support access to essential resources, strengthen local partnerships, and create meaningful impact through hands-on support. This is one of many ways this work takes shape across our offices around the world.

As part of Women’s History Month, employees across Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, including members of the Bloomberg Women’s Community, worked toward a shared goal: expanding access to menstrual care and essential hygiene products.

In partnership with Simply the Basics, the nation’s first large-scale hygiene bank, employees assembled thousands of menstrual care kits for distribution through local nonprofit networks.

Employees in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York (L-R) came together to assemble 6,000 menstrual kits this month.

A collective effort across cities

Teams worked side by side to assemble and prepare more than 6,000 kits for distribution, demonstrating the power of coordinated employee action.

Advancing dignity through access

Access to hygiene products is essential to health, confidence, and opportunity, yet many individuals and families still lack access.

Through this partnership, Bloomberg supports Simply the Basics in making hygiene more equitable and accessible nationwide.

A culture of purpose

For employees, efforts like this create opportunities to contribute directly, working alongside partners to support people and organizations on the ground, while building connections across teams and offices.

Through partnerships like Simply the Basics, that work translates into practical support reaching communities across the country.

This effort is part of a broader global commitment to packing and distributing menstrual care and hygiene products, supporting nonprofit partners including Helen Bamber Foundation in London, Tavolino Magico in Lugano, FeM Mädchenhaus and Ronald McDonald House in Germany, and Help for Domestic Workers in Hong Kong, bringing together people, partnerships, and purpose across regions.
