December 07, 2012

New York — Bloomberg L.P. today announced that Jason Schechter
will join the company as chief communications officer.
Schechter, formerly chairman of the U.S. Corporate Practice at
Burson-Marsteller, will lead and coordinate Bloomberg’s global
communications strategy across new and existing products and
markets as the company continues its growth.

“As Bloomberg broadens the scope of our activities into new
markets and new offerings, finding creative ways to reach our
target audience becomes even more important,” said Dan
Doctoroff, CEO and President of Bloomberg L.P. “Jason Schechter
has demonstrated throughout his career the kind of innovative
thinking and doing that will meet this need. He is a perfect fit
for Bloomberg.”

“Bloomberg is re-imagining the way we communicate with our
clients and stakeholders,” said Kevin Sheekey, head of
government relations and corporate communications at Bloomberg
L.P. and Chairman of Bloomberg Government. “Jason has the skills
and experience to help us engage with the world in new ways, and
he will be a key player as we continue to build Bloomberg’s
culture of innovation, transparency and collaboration.”

“I am thrilled to join Bloomberg at such an exciting time for
the company, and I look forward to working with the team to
bring Bloomberg’s story of innovation and growth to the global
marketplace,” said Schechter.

At Burson-Marsteller, Schechter oversaw a team of nearly 80
communications professionals and provided strategic
communications counsel to leading companies across diverse
industries including financial services, technology, media, and
professional services, as well as non-U.S. headquartered
institutions looking to build global brands. Previously
Schechter was a Senior Vice President at Robinson Lerer &
Montgomery (now RLM-Finsbury) where he counseled Fortune 500
clients through intensive situations including high-profile
crises, corporate restructurings, financial transactions, and
executive transitions. Prior to joining RLM, Schechter was an
Assistant Press Secretary in the Clinton White House, serving as
an official spokesman to the President.

Schechter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government
from Georgetown University.
