Bloomberg, together with the Mutual Funds Association of Indonesia (APRDI), revealed the winners of the 2016 APRDI-Bloomberg Indonesia Fund Awards in Jakarta last night. The awards, now in their third year, were launched to recognize Indonesia’s best performing funds. This year, more than 200 fund managers and industry and business leaders in Indonesia gathered at the event with the theme, “Build the Future”.

A total of 34 awards – double that of the previous years – were presented at the ceremony held at Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta on March 10, 2016, following a high-level CIO roundtable to discuss industry trends.

“APRDI is delighted to have Bloomberg as a partner for the third consecutive year in these awards. We are optimistic about the long-term outlook for the domestic mutual fund industry, and these awards would help spur further growth and encourage industry best practice. By honoring the winners for their outstanding achievements tonight, these awards have become a benchmark for fund managers in the country,” said Denny R. Thaher, CEO of PT Maybank Asset Management and Chairman of APRDI.

Andrea Mosconi, Bloomberg’s Head of Sales for ASEAN, who co-hosted the event said, “Bloomberg is deeply honored to partner APRDI over the last three years as we established these awards to be recognized amongst the financial community as a hallmark of the fund industry’s achievements. We continue to see the growth and development of Indonesia’s mutual fund industry, which suggests Indonesia’s greater confidence in the capital markets as a tool to build financial reserves for the future.”

Overall, 17 awards were accorded to 1-year funds and another 17 to 3-year funds with outstanding performance across five broad categories: Islamic, Thematic, Fixed Income USD Denominated, Index and others.

Bloomberg’s global funds coverage includes open ended funds, exchange traded products, hedge funds and private equity funds spanning more than 100 countries.
