Bloomberg Wins Best Alternative Data Initiative at the WatersTechnology Inside Market Data & Inside Reference Data Awards 2024

Bloomberg is pleased to announce that ALTD <GO>, its Terminal-based alternative data product, has been selected as the winner of the Best Alternative Data Initiative category at the WatersTechnology Inside Market Data & Inside Reference Data Awards 2024.

This marks the first award win for ALTD <GO>, which launched in September 2023, and uses U.S. consumer transaction data analytics to provide an unprecedented look into the near-real time operating performance of companies. The solution is integrated into the Bloomberg Terminal, allowing clients to enhance their existing research workflows with alternative data analytics alongside traditional market data, broker research, estimates and news.

ALTD <GO> uses aggregated analytics of billions of credit card and debit card purchases from flagship data analytics source Bloomberg Second Measure to provide near real-time consumer transaction insights on over 900 public and private companies. It also includes location analytics from tens of millions of mobile devices from location analytics leader, Placer.ai, which analyzes foot traffic data, and other types of alternative data.

Bloomberg also took home a win for Best Enterprise Data Management Initiative in this year’s awards.
