Bloomberg Sports Launches “Stats Insights,” Sports Analysis Blog
December 10, 2012
NEW YORK — Bloomberg Sports, founded as a vertical division of
Bloomberg L.P. and now part of a joint venture with IMG, today
unveiled their new blog, Stats Insights. The blog will contain
original content and analysis for the five major European
football leagues as well as the NFL, MLB, and NBA, drawing on
the most advanced, data-driven predictive analytics. Other
sports will be added in the future as well.
The insights and commentary on Statsinsights.com will complement
the Bloomberg Sports subscription products, BSports Match
Analysis and Decision Maker. Launched earlier this fall, Match
Analysis provides extensive statistics and charts, as well as
the projected probability of results for each game in the
English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue
1. Built from in-depth analysis of current and historical data,
the Match Analysis projections flow from the predictive models
developed by Bloomberg Sports engineers, and provide
probabilities on the winner, final, half-time score, and total
goals. The application also breaks down each of the key game
factors and provides a host of original information on a weekly
basis designed to enhance the global football fan’s enjoyment
and interest in the games of their choosing. Now in its third
season, Decision Maker is the ultimate sit/start fantasy
football tool which contains the most accurate fantasy
projections in the industry.
“We are very pleased to launch Stats Insights as the latest
extension of our work in sports analytics and especially our
work in European football,” Bill Squadron, head of Bloomberg
Sports said. “Our staff of analysts includes many of the leading
minds in a variety of sports. We receive constant requests for
our analytical perspective, and this content provides passionate
sports fans with innovative insights. Over time we will continue
to add even more information so that the blog will become the
‘must follow’ for sports fans worldwide.”
In addition to the customized data, Stats Insights will feature
articles and videos that combine Bloomberg Sports analytics with
expert commentary for multiple sports. It will also be expanded
to include data and information from football leagues in North
and South America in the coming months. To see the blog please
